96 XP starting problem

One of my two 96 XP's is kind of hard to start but runs very well and fast when I get it started, It has a new battery, new plugs fresh gasoline.and plenty of oil in the oil tank. I'm wondering if anyone has and idea on what to check or have had the same problem and were able to figure out what was making it hard to start ? Also it seems like when I'm riding and then stop for 5 or 10 minutes it's hard to start up again. I know it could be a lot of things that could cause this but maybe this model is known for this. I'm thinking maybe it's getting flooded too easily or something ?Any ideas guys ? What can I check or try ? I'm sure some of you mechanic techs have an idea . Thanks for your help.
